The battleground for worry takes place in our minds! That’s where it begins. Philippians 4:8 reads “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.” When you’re struggling with worry and ask yourself… ”Are my thoughts completely true?” It’s interesting; most fears have an element of truth. If they were totally false we would probably never consider them. Satan knows how to lure us into believing lies. You can be sure if they’re not 100% true, they’re lies! Follow down the list;“Are they noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy?” By the time you finish this list, you may begin to see who’s behind your sleepless nights.
Life is not free from danger. It never will be on this side of heaven, so how can we find peace of mind? I find my peace in knowing that no matter how great the struggle I'm facing is, God is greater! He is at work and as I surrender my life and place my trust in Him, He will use even the tough times to mold me into the person I'm meant to be. We can find comfort in the words of Christ from John 16:33 “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world." |
